Parking Lot Passport 3.1.2023

Welcome to this weeks edition of clothes I actually wore this week. Most of my days involve an office job, that I love, along with what feels like 1000 other things needing my attention, so we keep style and fashion choices simple, fun, functional and obtainable. We keep a healthy balance of more formal work wear days (think dresses and skirts) and casual days (jeans and sandals). For reference, I am just an average short girl size wise, 5’ 1” tall, usually a medium/size 8, athletic build. And with no further adieu, let’s get to it.

Thursday | Work Wear

I am LOVING the fact that it is starting to still be light outside as I get out of the office. The spring sunsets have provided a glimmer of warmer days ahead. For now though we will still make style choices as if we will survive all four seasons in each day. You might recognize these pants, this is the third color I have. They really are that good! Anybody else find something that fits well and is easy to wear and then need it in every color available, or is that just a me thing? These high waisted, wide leg pants are quickly becoming part of my style uniform. Paired them today with this black cut work spring weight sweater.

The layered necklace stack and matching stretch bracelets really pull this all together and the black and gold earrings. Effortlessly chic and comfortable, these wardrobe staples will take you from work to weekend in style.

Friday|casual outfit of the day

Feeling pretty in pink today!  Paired this neon pink oversized button-down shirt with some ivory flared jeans for a little retro vibe. Love how a little flare makes even my legs look long! #shortgirlproblems This shirt would be a great one in the summer to throw on over a swimsuit at the lake in the evening. The color just screams sunshine!

Demi Boot Crop Jeans | Shacket | Twisted Back Sweater

Saturday | She is officially a grown up!

Celebrated this girl, my mini me, today for her 21st birthday! The Dobson casa is officially all adults today. Since she had a full schedule of coaching and practicing we enjoyed mimosas and waffles early. Threw on this stunning open back sweater that is perfect for the season. It’s such a breezy and comfortable piece, and the open back design adds a flirty touch to the look. Paired it with the perfect black flared cropped jeans – they fit like a dream and give my legs that extra length and shape that I love. The black shacket is a perfect staple for those chilly spring mornings and evenings and isn’t plaid! I love how versatile this outfit is, too. It’s perfect for a brunch date to celebrate the girl, but I could easily dress it up for a night out on the town.

 Adult Rookies program
In the Dallas area and want to give hockey a try? Here is the Adult Rookies program I did. You are never too old for something new!

February 26

Sunday | Hockey Night

I do love getting dressed up, but I also love to sweat! A LOT! As it turns out I really like to challenge myself and try all the new things. After being the constant cheerleader for Mr. Dobson’s hockey endeavors for quite a few years and getting voluntold for the treasurer role with our local disabled veteran hockey team, I finally caved to all the peer pressure and put some skates on. Turns out its actually pretty fun. I am sure it helps that because I am so short all of my pads overlap each other making the falls almost unnoticeable. Those couple of inches on my arm there, that is the only open space. After playing with a women’s league for a couple of seasons it was time to get extra brave and play with the boys. Sunday nights I now suit up and check my fear (and pride 🤣) at the door and push myself to be better. What is the last new thing you tried?

Monday | work wear

Monday blues? Not when I’ve got this smocked flutter sleeve blue dress that fits like a glove! The zipper up the back combined with the smocked bodice make this dress so easy to wear and still get everything on your to do list crossed off. Added some great platform sneakers and a white knit blazer to conquer the day and all the crazy weather it may include. Do yourself a favor and grab a knit blazer, they can go with everything and are as versatile as the spring weather.

Blue Stripe Dress | Espadrille Wedge Sandal - work wear outfit of the day

Tuesday | work wear

This blue and purple stripe ruffle maxi dress gave off vacation vibes all day. The ruffled v-neck has an added snap closure for extra wearability and the waist band helps give you a little shape rather than feeling like a tent. Maxi dresses without legs for days can sometimes be hard to wear and look good in, but that waist band made this one prefect! Paired them with some great espadrille wedges and an antique necklace from my grandma that was the perfect blue!

Similar Green Dress | Jean Jacket | White Platform Sneakers | Lucky Charm Necklace | Lucky Charm Bracelet | Lucky Charm Earrings

March 1

Wednesday | work wear

Feeling lucky as a four-leaf clover on the first day of March! Do you know the meaning of your name? Mine means Ireland, the land of rolling green hills, and breathtaking beauty. I used to call this magical land home for a brief period of time, and I still carry a piece of it with me wherever I go. Today, I wore a stunning green dress that perfectly reminds me of the lush Irish landscapes. Paired it with a great lucky charm jewelry set, some tennies and a classic dark wash jean jacket.
